By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. In like a lion, out like a lamb. We'll have to wait and see if that adage is true about March this year with the first just a couple days away. For the Quincy area, it looks like we'll have a 50-percent chance of rain and temperatures in the low to mid 40's. That's not bad if you consider some of the March openers in the past. And that's the point of today's report. March 1st is the opener for the Quincy lakes as well as several other lakes in Grant County. You've probably heard about the Quincy Trout Derby, but that's not until March 24th this year, so you have a while to wait on that one. But if you want to get out and catch some trout, Burke, Upper Caliche, Cliff, Crystal, Cup, Martha and Quincy Lakes all open with with statewide daily and size limits in place. Dusty and Merry Lake also open March 1st with selective gear restrictions, a one fish limit and no internal combustion engines. Dave and I did a video back in 2014 that I've included a link to on our Facebook Page. Until next time, Good Fishing!
