I learned about a couple of things that you may want to make a note of. One is the closure of the boat ramp at Mill Bay on Lake Chelan in April. The Chelan County PUD is making several improvements here. Some of the major improvements include paving the parking area, storm drainage inspection and new concrete curbing and striping. Paving needs to be done when temperatures are more moderate, so for this work the Mill Bay launch will be closed from April 2nd through May 18th. The Chelan PUD has worked to assure the availability of the alternate launches at Manson Bay, Lakeshore Marina and the Riverwalk launch. Also, there is a great deal in interest in the new RV Park and Campground near the upper net pens on Rufus Woods Reservoir. This was a joint project with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Colville Tribe. The new facility is scheduled to be open by May 1st. To learn more about the park, you can contact the Colville Tribe’s Park and Recreation Department in Nespelem. Funding through the WDFW has also been obtained to build a new boat launch near the new park.
