I’m glad that February is such a short month. It gets us closer to spring by a few days. I thought we were getting an early spring there for a while, but then snow and colder temperatures returned. For those who are willing to brave the cold, the fishing for kokanee on Lake Chelan continues to be hot. My buddy Lance Effrig is getting limits, even when it is snowing and blowing on the lake. In the meantime, while we wait for the weather to settle out, there are a couple of events that I want to bring to your attention. The Youth Outdoors Unlimited annual banquet and auction in Moses Lake is coming up on Saturday, March 3rd. This organization is dedicated to providing hunting and fishing experiences for youngsters with life-threatening illness or disabilities. They have done an excellent job doing just that, and well deserve your support. They have another auction and banquet coming up in Spokane on March 24th. You can learn more about Youth Outdoors Unlimited and find out how to help by visiting www.youthoutdoorsu.org. They have a couple of events coming up in April and I will remind you of those later on.
