By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. Anytime I found myself in trouble at school when I was young, I'd get my Dad talking about hunting or fishing to divert the conversation. It worked nearly every time. Except for the time when I ran away from school in the third grade telling my teacher I was quitting school to join my Dad logging. When my Dad heard that, all he could do was laugh. I'm afraid storytelling is becoming a lost art. I got into radio because my mind was formed by imagining the scene in my Dad's stories. His descriptions helped me paint a picture in my head that was as vivid as the best HD TV's of today. I so wanted to extend that virtue through the art of radio and telling a story. To paint a mental picture for those who couldn't see it. My Dad would start telling a story of a fishing or hunting trip and his eyes would transfix on something I couldn't see as he described it. I think it's high time to leave the cell phones at home, get out on the boat and tell stories. Or better yet, make new ones! Until next time, Good Fishing!
