There is so much happening on the fishing front that I just don’t know which way to go. There is great trout fishing available in lakes throughout the region. It took 47 pounds of bass to win the recent Potholes Open, so the really big largemouth and smallmouth are beginning to bite. The walleye are starting to wake up on Moses Lake and Banks. I have even heard that there are already kokanee being taken in the lower basin at Lake Chelan. Throw in the fact that there are pretty fair numbers of Chinook being taken at Chelan and the triploid action at Rufus Woods is picking, it’s hard to choose just what to do. I am really torn. I love early-season bass fishing, but I want to get in on the leading edge of the walleye fishing at Moses or Banks. I like nothing better than catching a bunch of kokanee, and I have yet to even try for the Chinook on Chelan. The smallmouth action on Chelan will be getting good soon, too. I guess it really doesn’t matter what your preference is; trout, bass, walleye, kokanee or Chinook. Now’s the time to load the boat and get going!
