This Saturday is the annual Kids Fishing Day at Rock Island, and the Pitt Pond is going to be a very busy spot. The pond will be loaded with rainbow, including some real monsters, so be prepared. Make sure your kid’s reels are loaded with good line for this one. If you have problems with your equipment, look for the Wenatchee Sportsmen’s Association people, who will be set up near the hot dog stand. They will help keep you fishing if you have a break down. I want to remind parents that fishing at the Pitt Pond is for juvenile anglers only, and that means kids under the age of 15. The action starts at 9 a.m. and hot dogs and Pepsi will be served up later in the morning. I want to let everyone know that the Wenatchee Sportsmen are also inviting outdoors people to another Eyes in the Woods training session. This is an important program that assists hunting and fishing enforcement officers, and it will be held at the Steelworkers Union Hall, 180 Rock Island Road in East Wenatchee, on Wednesday, April 22nd. The program starts at 7 p.m. Ron Poppe does a great job presenting this program, and if you have questions you can call 509-662-3957.
