If you are wondering why all those campers, RVs and trucks are heading through your town, they are headed to the Columbia Basin. There are a whole bunch of lakes that just opened for fishing and this is the first weekend that people will get a chance to fish them. The “April Fools” opener is not only enjoyed by us locals, there are hundreds of west-side anglers that visit when these lakes open. I want to remind folks who are looking for some great bargains on fishing gear that the annual Central Washington Bass Club Garage Sale is taking place on Sunday, April 5th. The club will be set up in front of the Canned Food Outlet on Wenatchee Avenue, and there will be tables full of fishing gear at great prices. I will be there with some of the “extra” rods, reels and baits that I feel I can part with. It is going to be kids fishing event season soon, and every year I post a list of events in the region, so families can plan to make it to as many as possible. Log onto fishingmagician.com and click on Events for Kids on the Home Page to learn all about them.
