By Dave Graybill

April is a month that is loaded with things to do with the family. There are events for kids taking place every weekend somewhere in our region. The first one I know of is a new one this year, and should be one of the best. Sponsored by the Moses Lake Irrigation and Rehabilitation District and supported by Weinstein Beverage Pepsi Cola, it will take place at Connelly Park in Moses Lake on Saturday, April 11th. This one offers prizes for biggest fish for three fishing times, and registration blanks can be found at Momma’s, Mike’s Bait and Tackle, Airway Heights Deli and the Artic Circle Drive in Moses Lake. On Wednesday, April 15th there is a seminar for beginning anglers offered at Cascade Auto Center. Starting at 6 p.m. that evening I will present techniques for catching trout from shore and from boat, and Bill Lemke, from Hooked on Toys, will about the basics of spiny ray fishing. Come on over for free hot dogs and a chance to win some prizes. On April 18th there is the Rock Island Kids Fishing Day and the Lion’s Club Kids Fishing Day at the Oasis Park in Ephrata. Mark your calendars and come join the fun!
