This is a great time of year to get your family involved in fishing, and there are some opportunities coming up that will really help you get a jump start on this activity. On Wednesday, April 15th Cascade Auto Center is offering their Chevy Learn to Fish Night, starting at 6 p.m. at their dealership in Wenatchee. This is another in a series of informative seminars that Cascade Auto has sponsored over the past two years. This one is for the beginning angler and I will be there to show the basics of how to catch trout. You’ll learn what rod and reel to get and how to set it up to fish from shore or a boat. Bill Lemke, from Hooked on Toys will be there to show folks the basics of catching spiny ray fish, which means bluegill, crappie and bass. There will be hot dogs and water prior to the event and drawings for great prizes during the presentations. On Saturday, April 18th families can bring their fishing gear and their new knowledge to the Pitt Pond in Rock Island for the annual Kids Fishing Day. The pond will be loaded with fish and the Wenatchee Sportsmen’s Association will be there to help you catch ‘em!
