By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. I was going through my phone trying to make room with all the pictures and videos I've shot over the years and came across a trip Marion and I made to Conconully. Course, we visited the Okanogan County destination in May, but I wanted to give it a go. So, last weekend, I headed north with the boat in tow and a dream in my head. I know we'd had success in Deep Lake in September for kokanee, so I was hoping the upper Reservoir in Conconully would produce as well. I didn't get out of town until 8am so I arrived at 10 and was fishing by 10:30. I was surprised to find how low the water level was with just enough water to launch at the State Park. I ran up to the upper corner and found a huge algae bloom, so I turned my bow back down lake and fished from the middle down. I caught a smallmouth bass on my kokanee gear and two trout. I fished until about 4:30 and set up camp. After a refreshing night's sleep, I'd try it again in the morning. Until next time, Good Fishing!
