For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. Marion and I spent last weekend camping and hunting in the Teanaway and up near Salmon la Sac. Well, let me rephrase that. Marion went camping while I went hunting. She's gone with me a few times but is hard to convince to get up that early in the morning to trapse around the forest in search of "Bambi", as she puts it. We camped along the Teanaway and Cle Elum Rivers on separate nights. While I rushed up a mountainside each morning, Marion spent her days by the river, just listening. As we began packing up camp Sunday, she suggested we take a little drive to check out some other camping spots. It was during this drive that I finally realized just how absolutely beautiful this river was that I'd ignored for the better part of two days. I was so focused on my task at hand of getting out hunting, I hadn't paid attention. Then it hit me. I waded out into the river (ankle deep) and just listened. The gurgling, rushing water brought about an inner calm. Sometimes we need to just shut up and listen. Until next time, Good Fishing!
