For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. My weekend of work was extended by weather as the State B Baseball Tournament I was covering in Ephrata got washed out Saturday with half moving to Yakima and the other half moving to Wenatchee. Thankfully, I was able to head back close to home and call a great game between Mount Vernon Christian and Naselle. The Comets repeated as State Champs with a 4-2 win. I headed back through Ephrata for Billy Clapp Monday morning. I was on the water fishing by 7:30. The water was eerily quiet with not a single fish showing on the surface nor could I find much on the fish-finder. I switched gear three times and finally saw a fish jump behind the boat inshore. I wheeled around and shallowed one of my rods on the downrigger to 20-feet and BAM! Fish on! It was the first fish of the day so I had to play it, find the net, lengthen the handle and finally land a beauty 15-inch kokanee. It hit a Kokabow blade with a pink Christianson mini-squid and anise-scented corn. I caught one more rainbow and that was it for the day. Until next time, Good Fishing!
