For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. I've been watching a few Facebook friends post nearly daily about their adventures fishing spring chinook on the Icicle River. For some it's been a grind but it seems the bite is getting better as the water conditions improve. It reminded me of a trip I took with Dave Graybill, Dan Schleifers with guide Shane Magnuson years ago. Shane provided incredible tips on his approach for springers on the Icicle. That trip also included some fishing into the Wenatchee River as it was also open for springers. When the water is high and dirty, Shane likes to use herring or plugs. When it's lower and clearer, he prefers eggs with a spin-and-glow on dropper balls or divers. I edited a video from that trip this morning and shared the edited version on our Facebook page today that starts with the detailed information Shane provides on his approach on the Icicle. We all limited out that day and had a spectacular time not only catching fish but soaking in the incredible spring views along the Icicle and Wenatchee Rivers. We were on a boat that day, but bank fishing is also productive. Until next time, Good Fishing!
