For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. My wife Marion shared a post on Facebook yesterday from three years ago. It was a video of me welcoming her home with the camper all set up in the back yard and a crackling fire in our fire pit. She had just been informed that she apparently was "non-essential" and was being laid off because of coronavirus. It's hard to believe three years have gone by since the craziness surrounding the pandemic. They shut fishing and hunting down. Boat ramps and public facilities were closed. To this day, that part of the decision making still doesn't make any sense to me. But it's amazing the choices we make when gripped in fear. As with most things that come our way, Marion and I made the best of it. I had our kiddie pool full of water and rods and reels at the ready. Thankfully, we had some packaged smoked fish from a previous excursion ready and we "fished" for fish in the kiddie pool. I guess the biggest thing we need to be thankful for is that we're still around to laugh about it and the great outdoors is back open. Until next time, Good Fishing!
