For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. There are a few things of interest from Fish and Wildlife you might want to check out. First, they're talking about a change in the season for the white sturgeon fishery on Lake Roosevelt. In the past, it's been open from mid-June to the end of September but they're considering making it just a fall fishery. The reason is to let the waters cool down to be less stress on adult sturgeon caught. They'll have two meetings to take your input with the first being on March 22nd at the Region 1 headquarters in Spokane Valley. The other will be March 23rd at the Ag Trade Center on the Colville Fairgrounds. Both meetings will run from 6 to 8:30pm. Even though we received a fresh coat of snow the other day, spring is on the way and so too is the turkey season. Fish and Wildlife will be conducting drone surveys all over Region 1 to see how the turkeys faired over the winter. There's also still time to get hunter education safety in for youngsters. You can find out more on the Fish and Wildlife's website at www.wdfw.wa.gov/hunting. Until next time, Good Fishing!
