By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. Yogi Berra is probably misquoted more than he's quoted. He's also credited with saying more than he actually said. But here are a few you can quote. "It ain't over 'til it's over." "When you come to a fork in the road, take it." "It's like déjà vu all over again." Another of his famous quotes came to mind last weekend while we celebrated Father's Day in Winthrop at our family's property. Yogi said, "No one goes there nowadays, it's too crowded." My sister's family decided to go fishing Pearrygin Lake Sunday afternoon. Soon, they were back with disappointed looks on their faces. When asked what happened she simply said, "it's full." Seems the State Park was full to capacity in the day-use area and they were turned away by the Park Ranger. I'd never heard of such a thing in my life. Of course, I disgustedly stewed over it for a while thinking, "I'm a Washington State resident who's paid the privilege to fish and now I'm being told I can't go to a park that I own?!" But after a long winter and COVID, too many people is a good thing for Winthrop's economy. Until next time, Good Fishing!
