By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. A great place to do some summer fly fishing for trout is on the Teanaway River in Kittitas County. On the main stem, you can sometimes find a lunker willing to strike. What I like to do is take our truck tent and setup camp right along the West Fork of the Teanaway in the Teanaway campground. It's a free spot to camp managed by the Department of Natural Resources. The campground was closed for several weeks this spring while a manhunt was on for an accused killer. The closure continued into summer as the DNR made upgrades to the campground. It was set to reopen July 9th and was to be our final stop for a few days on our vacation. We were the second people in there, only to find the changes during the renovation to be appalling. Now, the work on the road into and around the campground was great. But giant boulders were placed along several former trailer camp spots. They'd changed it to pack-in, tent camping only. It basically reduced the available spots by at least half. It ruined our favorite spot to camp. Until next time, Good Fishing!
