Good news for anglers in Washington State is that recreational fishing is opening in most areas on May 5th. You will want to read the news release that is posted on my Facebook Page and web site and on the Facebook Page of Bob Feil Boats and Motors. There will be more details coming from the governor’s office and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, so keep an eye on my reports and you can get updates from the department’s web site at www.dfw.wa.gov. The State Parks are opening, so the boat launches can be accessed, but there is no overnight camping. Fishing in your local area is stressed, and since the hotels and restaurants will remain closed, day trips will be the way to go for the time being. I hope you have your boat ready to go, as there will be a crush now to get service. Bob Feil Boats and other boat dealers have been open on a limited basis throughout the closures to allow people to get their boats serviced and their parts departments have also been open so you could pick up parts. Remember to stay safe and follow the rules so we can keep everything open.

Jameson Lake in Douglas County offers long stretches of shore for anglers, where they can practice social distancing and have great fishing.
