By Dave Graybill

Fishing for upriver Brights is one of the most popular salmon fisheries in the state, and even more of these kings are expected to arrive to the Hanford Reach than last year. The daily limit this season is six fish, two of which may be adults. Anglers can take Chinook and coho, hatchery and wild. To celebrate the fall fishing season on the Reach, Hooked on Toys in Wenatchee and the local chapter of Coastal Conservation Association are having a special event at the store from 5 to 7:30 on the evening of Wednesday, September 4th. There will be a presentation on fishing techniques to help you be more successful this season, from Mike Roth of Team Takedown Guide Service. Pat Phillips, manager of the Wells Hatchery Complex will talk future salmon fishing on the upper Columbia River, and Dave Graybill, WDFW Commissioner will be on hand to talk to everyone. There will also be information available on the Annual CCA King of the Reach Derby that takes place just after the end of the fall season. Don’t forget: Be at Hooked on Toys in Wenatchee from 5 to 7:30 on Wednesday, September 4th.
