There are a couple of important meetings coming up in the region that relate to the fisheries in the mid and upper Columbia River. Those who are interested in learning about the forecasts and planning for the fisheries on the Columbia River should attend. There will be updates on the Columbia River Policy and the Spring Salmon Allotment as well. It is an opportunity for the public to let the WDFW know their opinions on what is ahead for the 2019 season. The first meeting is in East Wenatchee on Tuesday, March 26th. It will be held at the Douglas County PUD building and is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. The second meeting will be held in Kennewick on Wednesday, March 27th. It will be held at the Kennewick Irrigation District office and is also scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. These meetings are part of what is known as the “North of Falcon” process that sets the recreational, commercial and tribal fishing seasons for the coming year. I will be at both of these meetings and hope to see you there. Don’t forget, the free seminar at Bob Feil Boats and Motors is on March 28th. Austin Moser will be talking walleye fishing and it will be an excellent way to learn about early spring techniques.
