Boy, am I excited. I am going to fish upper Rufus Woods, and this is something I have been trying to find the time to do for months. The plan is to meet Austin Moser at the Seatons Grove boat launch and head down the reservoir. We are going to be casting jigs for rainbow and walleye and maybe even do some bottom bouncing with spinners. This is the time of year when the anglers can expect the walleye bite to be good and the rainbow and triploid fishing is always good at the upper end of Rufus Woods. I have fished from Seatons Grove down to the net pens many times, and I have always caught some nice rainbow and triploids in this stretch. This time I hope to spend more time seeing if we can catch some walleye. Recent reports indicate that the walleye fishing is good, and the fish are running 18 to 21 inches. I know that there are some big walleye caught and released this time of year in the area of the reservoir, too. I am keeping my fingers crossed that we have some current. That will make all the difference in our fishing success.
