By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. I could be wrong, and I usually am, but I think I tend to brood on things more than my wife. I think about stuff, as she says. I've been going over and over in my head about what I could have done differently last weekend while fishing for Kokanee on Lake Chelan. We caught a smattering of fish and lost a few at the net, but that's Kokanee fishing. It's just the bite was very few and far between. In my mind, I see myself looking around to other boats to see if they were having more success. The answer was no. Even a guide boat that was plying the same waters we were. We marked a few on the screen, but the bite just wasn't on. One thing I came up with was that I should have gone with shorter leader lengths. But that was the whole stubborn side of me showing up. It would have been easy to shorten up, but for whatever reason, I wouldn't do it. The most success I've had in Chelan has been leaders less than a foot. So now, I'll brood on the next trip, and shorten up. Until next time, Good Fishing!
