By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. I FINALLY got a chance to get out fishing. Although I'll admit for the second week in March, I didn't expect it to be ICE fishing! But hey, I won't shake a finger and getting a chance to wet a line. My buddy Dave had been telling me about this secret little lake he'd found in the Quincy area that was producing not only a lot of perch, but some pretty good size as well. He kept inviting me to go, but as usual, I had something else tugging at my schedule to keep me away. But then he produced a photo of a bonus walleye he found through the ice and I HAD to get out. So, Sunday morning I arrived a little tardy on Dave's doorstep in Rock Island to climb in his truck for the 30-minute drive to the Quincy plateau. 20-minutes into fishing and Dave pulled five nice keepers onto the snow-covered lake and I didn't have a bite. But the No. 3 Swedish Pimple eventually began enticing a bit and by day's end, I'd helped us catch plenty of nice keepers for a great fish fry. Until next time, Good Fishing!
