By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. It's back to the real world today after being on vacation for 10-days. Hearing that alarm on my phone this morning was NOT a welcome sound. But, you have to work to earn those incredible days off, right? Marion and I had a great time on the Washington coast for most of our vacation and then the Anacortes area for the final stretch. We were able to get out crabbing a couple times, looking for what proved to be the elusive Dungeness crab. We were able to get Dad out last Friday and launched at Coronet Bay on the northeast tip of Whidbey Island, just inside Deception Pass. We ran around the corner to our favorite spot and dropped six crab pots in the water and bobbed around telling stories. Dad has become Mom's full-time caregiver since she was diagnosed with dementia and I know he was well overdo for some time in the great outdoors. We use mostly salmon entrails with heads, spines and tails as bait and check the pots every 30-minutes. We only got one limit in five hours. But it was great to get Dad out on the water. Until next time, Good Fishing!
