The forecast wasn’t exactly for warm weather on Tuesday, but at least the wind wasn’t supposed to blow. Good enough for me. I called Mike McKee at Mike’s Meats and Seafood at the Pybus Market, a longtime fishing buddy, and off we went to Lake Chelan. I headed for the area above the Yacht Club that provided two limits of fat kokanee for me on my last trip. We put the gear out, and waited, and waited. What’s going on, I wondered. There were lots of fish here last time. That’s fishing for ya. We had a few hits and landed a couple of fish and after wasting a couple of hours we gradually made our way down toward the Yacht Club. We were just entering the channel here when things changed. The pace picked up considerably and we even had a double. There were some lulls in the action and we had quite a few hits that didn’t hook up. When we decided to go back to the State Park launch we had a dozen kokanee and a cutthroat in the cooler. Once again, the Kokabow Tackle was most popular with the kokanee, and especially the new Yellow Jacket blade and the Ravisher spinner.
