By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. If Facebook is an accurate gauge, the Buoy 10 fishery at the mouth of the Columbia is off the hook...or maybe ON the hook as the case may be. I'm seeing photo after photo of people with big smiles holding up nice, bright fish. It also looks like things are still hot out of Westport. My cousin Michael Bruce, the former mayor of Westport, has been sending me images of an empty boat harbor in the morning and then tons of successful anglers in the afternoon upon their return. Meanwhile, things in our neck of the woods has been pretty quiet. There's some activity but its not hot on the upper Columbia. The walleye bite is hit and miss on Banks Lake. And, as you heard by now from Dave, there won't be a sockeye fishery on Lake Wenatchee this year. So we all wait on the Fall Kings. The early indication is that the Vernita and Hanford Reach fishery should be pretty good here in the next month. And even though we're mid-way through August, don't forget about some of the great fly streams producing throughout North Central Washington. Until next time, Good Fishing!
