By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. I'm in the middle of preparing to do a television series on a topic no one wants to talk about. Death. Its the topic everyone will face, but not one wants to talk about. And I couldn't help but think about that dark subject while fishing with my Dad in Puget Sound last weekend. Well, no, I didn't sit there and think, "well, Dad could kick the bucket at any second now!" But I did think about what he and Mom have in mind for their final plans. I also thought about how I need to soak these moments up because in not-to-many years, hopefully more than few, these moments won't happen. Dad is 74 and in pretty good health. He is the man who taught me everything I know about fishing and the outdoors. Thankfully, I had my friend Marion along to snap some photos of me and Dad as we tried catching some of the escaped net-pen Atlantic Salmon off Cypress Island in the San Juans. For those on Facebook, you can see Dad and me in the back of my boat, trying to coax a bite. I'm thankful for these moments. Until next time, Good Fishing!
