By Dave Graybill

I am champing at the bit to get out after summer-run salmon on the upper Columbia this year. I have caught spring salmon at Drano Lake in early May. I have caught spring salmon on the Icicle River in late May. I have even caught a couple of kings on Lake Chelan, so I figure I am really going to have a good season on the river this year. I know that this logic probably doesn’t make any sense, but I going to believe I am on a salmon hot streak till I’m proven wrong. To get ready I am going to be at the Valley Marine Boat Show and seminar day at Hooked on Toys on Saturday, June 27th. Shane Magnuson and Jerrod Gibbons will be doing seminars that morning, and I am always interested in hearing what these guys have to say. They catch a lot of summer-runs every year, so what they say I do. Valley Marine will be there with a bunch of boats and it’s an opportunity to talk to Dan Allen and Max Rutger about what’s new in fishing boats, and the care and maintenance of your current boat. I will be on hand to answer questions about fishing here in the region, too. Hope to see you there!
