As we move into June, there is nothing but good news to report on the fishing front here in Central Washington, particularly for those who enjoy fishing for spiny ray species. It took longer than usual for these fisheries to kick into gear but they are really cooking now. I am getting reports of very good to excellent fishing for walleye now from Banks Lake, Potholes Reservoir, Lake Roosevelt, Moses Lake and other bodies of water that hold these fish. Water temperatures have risen and the bite has really taken off on these waters. I am also getting reports of large fish being taken from all of these locations this year. To add to the good news, the largemouth and smallmouth bass fishing is also going great guns. Good catches are being made at all the locations I just mentioned, and also most off of the smaller waters scattered throughout the region. There are also some great events for families coming up. Be sure to check the Events for Kids page on my web site for dates and locations, and I know I will be adding at least one more to the list next week. Good weather, good fishing, life is good!
