Well, the fall fishery in our area of the Hanford Reach is closed, and the steelhead fishing isn’t all that great. But I am seeing some reports of the coho fishing on the Icicle showing limits being taken. I frequently check on the Icicle, as it is so close to my home. It was just a few days ago that I saw the first coho roll in the stretch of river that is just below the hatchery. I have seen a couple of fish near the handicapped platform and a bright fish on the bottom that was either released or died for some reason. We had some periods of rain a few days ago, and more to come in the forecasts. The little rain we’ve had moved some fish into the Icicle, but we need a lot more to see the big numbers of fish that are still waiting in the Columbia or lower Wenatchee. While I wait for this to happen, I am going to just go have some fun and fish for perch and crappie on Moses Lake. The last batch of fillets I brought home were so delicious I want to put a bunch more in the freezer.
