I wanted to remind anglers that there are a few lakes in Grant County that you can fish until the end of the month, for the first time ever. Usually closing to fishing at the end of September, Park, Blue and Deep lakes are all open this year and from reports that I have received, Park and Blue are producing some great catches of perch. There is a great boat launch at the top end of Park Lake, and the one on Blue Lake I like as it puts you pretty close to the best fishing areas. Also, when I mentioned the good perch fishing in an earlier report, I was told that the trout fishing had been great on these lakes as well. Anglers may want to spend some time fishing for both species. Just above Park Lake is Deep Lake. This is a very scenic lake that lies in a steep, narrow coulee and is known for good trout fishing in the spring and fall. The lake also has a good population of kokanee. The kokanee average around 10 inches. The Deep Lake launch is at the bottom end of the lake and can handle large boats.
