For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. Heading into the Labor Day Weekend, Marion and I knew we wanted to get out fishing, but didn't have a plan. In fact, it wasn't until Saturday morning that I figured out where I wanted to go. So, after taking 20-minutes to load up the boat and another hour prepping the camper, we were off to Banks Lake. I'd been to the Barker Canyon launch years ago and remembered seeing folks camping there. Two and a half hours later, we arrived at the end of the dusty trail on the western edge of Banks Lake looking out at Steamboat Rock. We launched and parked the camper beneath a tree while I brought the boat around to shore near our camp. We headed out for an afternoon fish and battle the wind and chop for a small walleye we threw back. Up and at it early Sunday, we had two in the boat by 10 o'clock, both good sized. The wind and waves were a struggle so we settled in for an evening at camp. Much better weather greeted us Monday and another nice walleye. Sometimes no plan is a good plan. Until next time, Good Fishing!
