By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. I hope you and your loved ones had a Merry Christmas. This is the time of year to reflect on family, and blessings, and times gone bye. We have an old photo framed in the corner of the living room in our home that's of a hunting trip from long ago. We were fortunate enough to harvest two bull elk on the Oregon Coast. In the photo celebrating our fortune are my Grandma Georgene, my Mom, my Grandpa Ben, his brother Franklin and me. For those of you on our Facebook page, you can see the photo. I'm the one on the ground with a thumbs up and a cold beer. While Dad was here at the house last time, he pointed out the picture and retold the story of that hunt. It was the first time women had ever come to elk camp. But he also asked if I noticed anything about the photo. He said, "Eric, you're the only one in that photo still living." His words hung in the air like an anvil. Cherish family while they're still around. Tell them you love them. And remember the adventures. Until next time, Good Fishing!
