By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. You never know what you have until it's gone. This was driven home for me 3-months ago when my Mom passed away. It was also brought to the forefront last night when we had a virus infect our computers and we had a huge crash and lost all of our files. THANKFULLY, we just finished working on a secure, backup system over the past three months, so everything was saved up to two nights ago. While it's going to take several days to reconstruct all of our files and retrieve them from the backup, the only thing truly lost was anything created yesterday. This virus is widespread and going through the country. It basically encrypts itself in your system and holds all your files for a ransom. You will not be able to restore your documents. In our world today, this is devastating. Word to the wise is to try to back up your stuff as safely as possible RIGHT NOW! Don't wait. And make sure your backup is not connected to your network. I know this doesn't equate to the death of a loved one, but losing your files may feel like a death in the family. Until next time, Good Fishing!
