By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. For those checking out our Facebook page, you'll see a video I put together from last weekend's adventure on Puget Sound with my Dad. It will appear as if we're crabbing. Which we are, but we're doing so much more than that. I got Dad out of the house and on the boat to just breathe for a few hours and understand there's a lot of life left in his old bones. He has worked tirelessly for the past several years caring for Mom while she battles Lewy body dementia. As I mentioned a couple weeks ago, Mom's in a memory care facility recovering from a trip to the hospital after falling. While she's there, I'm doing my best to give Dad a break. If you watch the video, you'll see that I have him doing the majority of the work. You might suggest I'm a jerk for making my 77-year old father slave away at pulling pots, but there's a method to my madness. You see, I want him to not only breathe the salt air and thank him for taking such good care of Mom, but also remember he's still alive and well with more adventures to come. Until next time, Good Fishing!
