For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. August! Really?! What the heck happened to summer?! That's a common refrain I'm hearing at work and from friends. It's true. June and July seemed like they went by in the snap of your fingers. And now the final month of summer is upon us. But as I drove to work yesterday, one crystal clear thing dawned one me. What a beautiful day it was! And, knock on wood, the skies are smoke-free here in North Central Washington. Seems the last several summers have devolved into a 5th season...fire season. But, thankfully, we are smoke free. And, we should all send a positive thought to whomever power you choose that it stays this way in our 8th month of the year. But I hear dry lightning is in the forecast and I pray for firefighter's safety if they're called out again. Those gathering on the Upper Columbia River under these smokeless skies are still enjoying good catches of Summer Chinook off the Entiat and below Chelan Falls. And today the Brewster Pool opens, which will spread the fleet out a bit. So enjoy the blue skies and hot temperatures of August. Until next time, Good Fishing!
