I am looking ahead to what I would like to do fishing wise in the coming week. These early plans don’t always work out, but I will try. I am eager to hear how the salmon derby went in Brewster. The results may encourage me to get out and try this. I have a serious shortage of walleye in my freezer. I haven’t done well so far this season, and I think I am going to give Lake Roosevelt a go and see if I can’t put some fillets away. The daily limit is 16 on this big reservoir, as walleye are so plentiful. I just have to decide what area to fish. I hear that it can be good as nearby as Swawilla Basin, just up from the Spring Canyon boat ramp. I have never tried for walleye here, but I hear that they are there. I have fished at Two Rivers, Northport and in the Spokane Arm and am looking forward to fishing a new area on Roosevelt. I have also been invited to fish for kokanee on Roosevelt. Fish to 5 pounds can be had, so I hear. Wouldn’t that be great! I’ll let you know how I do.
