By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. A Facebook buddy Eric Braaten asked that I remind you that the Gordon Steinmetz Memorial Spring Walleye Classic is this weekend on Banks Lake. Operated by the Spokane Walleye Club, the two-day event will operate out of Coulee Playland. This is for individuals or two-person teams with each weighing at the conclusion of each day six walleye, only two of which may be over 24-inches long. Weigh-ins will be two flights each day, on Saturday at 3 and 3:30 and Sunday 1:30 and 2pm. Cash and prizes will be awarded and the number of teams will be capped at 125. There will be a driver's meeting at Coulee Playland Friday at 5:30. For a list of sponsors and tournament rules and registrations, you can go on-line to www.spokanewalleyeclub.com. The Spokane Walleye Club was founded in 1977 and is a non-profit social club aimed at educating the angling community about walleye fishing in the Inland Northwest. The tournament is named after its founder, Gordon Steinmetz, who began the Big Walley's Spring Walleye Classic in 1995. Steinmetz passed away in 2012. Until next time, Good Fishing!
