By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. An interesting part of working with fishing guides and tackle providers is the selling of the sizzle. Let's face it, fishing can be a pretty expensive pastime. I was looking over my tackle boxes and rods and reels in the garage the other day and Marion asked how much I spent on all that stuff. I told her she really didn't want to know. Once she retreated into the house, I started the mental calculations. Conservatively, I probably have about $2,000 worth of just tackle. That doesn't even count the amount of bait and scents, nor the hardware in boats and machinery. Imagine fishing for a living! That's why it make sense for these guides or someone like Dave to align themselves with manufacturers and tout their stuff to receive either a discount or equipment for free. The real magic happens when the stuff works. Such is the case with Kokabow Tackle out of Idaho. Dave came across their gear a few years ago, started a relationship with the owner, and uses it to great success fishing for kokanee and rainbow trout. For those on Facebook, check out our video on Roosevelt with Austin Moser. Until next time, Good Fishing!
