By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. The anticipation. The wait. Watching so carefully to see if anything is going to happen. Staring so long you feel like your eyes will surely cross! Listening for a sound. Knowing you shouldn't touch anything yet the ache to reach out and just grab to see what's there. Am I talking about a kid at Christmas waiting for a present under the tree or fishing? Actually, it works for both. There's something about this time of year that is so eye-widening. The thrill of the possibility and the angst of the unknown. Again, it could refer to the present under the tree or whether that fish will take your bait. Oh the hours spent looking at that mysterious wrapped present beneath the tree and the wonder about what's inside. And the hours spent watching the end of your fishing rod, waiting for a twitch or a tug and the wonder of what might be at the other end. Then the thrill of it all when you get to tear open the wrapping paper to find what's inside. Or the fight and the reel to bring to the surface your catch. Fishing? Christmas? One in the same. Until next time, Good Fishing!
