We’re getting some really ugly weather here in the region. In Leavenworth it’s a mix of snow and rain. This makes for a very heavy layer of yuk to shovel and shove off our vehicles. I am undeterred on my efforts to get up to Lake Chelan, though. Lance Effrig of Washington Guide Service has offered to take me out this week. I hope to be able to provide everyone with a report on where to go on Chelan and how big the kokanee are running this season. It looks like the weather is going to change for the better by the weekend, so it could be a good time to get out on Chelan. I am hearing that those who have been getting out on the water here are having good success on kokanee and cutthroat and catches of small kings have been the best in years. Also, I wanted people to know that I have recently sent out my free E-Letter on Winter Fishing prospects for the region. This is just one of the fisheries that I believe will be good this coming winter season, and I have a feature story on fishing Rufus Woods. This is just one of the places that I plan to fish this winter and suggest other anglers to try.
