The salmon fishing at Brewster continues to get better and better. Summer-run kings are plentiful and the number of hatchery fish being taken is up from previous years. I want to remind everyone that the Brewster King Salmon Derby is coming the weekend of August 4th, but you need to register prior to that. The cutoff for registrations is Monday, July 31st. You can register on line, too, so don’t miss the deadline. Just go to www.brewstersalmonderby.com to get to the registration page and get all the information on the derby. There will be thousands of dollars of cash and prizes awarded at the derby again this year. If you plan to fish the derby or just want to catch more summer-run salmon this season better attend the free seminar at Bob Feil Boats and Motors on Wednesday, August 2nd. Austin Moser will be doing the presentation and if you haven’t caught enough summer kings this season he can show you how to put more of them in your cooler. The seminar will start at 6 p.m. There will be lots of door prizes handed out and lots of parking at their dealership at 2131 Sunset Highway North in East Wenatchee.
