The public is invited to attend a series of workshops scheduled by the Department of Fish and Wildlife to provide their input on proposed revenue and spending priorities. Last fall the public attended a series of workshops under the Washington’s Wild Future initiative. Comments shared at these meetings are being prepared for submission to the Governor and Legislature this September. The Wild Future package reflects the input the department received and identifies both spending priorities and how to pay for them. In Eastern Washington there are meetings scheduled in the Spokane Valley, Selah and Wenatchee. The Spokane Valley meeting will be on Tuesday, August 2nd. The meeting in Selah will be held on Wednesday, August 3rd, and the meeting in Wenatchee is scheduled for Tuesday, August 9th. Please visit the WDFW web site for the street addresses where the meetings will be held. All meeting will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. I would encourage everyone to attend the meetings in your area as the public comment will help shape the budget requests that will be made to the Legislature to continue and improve WDFW programs.
