The next public meeting in a series of opportunities to share your opinions and pass suggestions along to Department of Fish and Wildlife staff is coming up very soon. It will be held on September 30th at the Center Place, 2426 North Discovery Place in the Spokane Valley. These meetings are a part of a long range program to gather information from the public to assure department staff that they are on track while planning future policy and rule making. I attended the first of these meetings which was held in Selah, Washington, and I very impressed by the attendance and the format. People will be able to meet Director Unsworth and local staff members and communicate one-on-one their concerns. The final meeting in this series will take place on October 20th in Wenatchee. It will be held at the Port of Chelan County Confluence Technology Center, 285 Technology Center Way, which is in Olds Station in north Wenatchee. I would encourage everyone to attend these meetings. They are much different than the meetings that the public is used to. To learn more about the meetings and the schedule, log onto the department’s web site. You will find a link on the home page.
