Summer has officially started now that Memorial Weekend is behind us, and there are so many great fishing opportunities for anglers it is impossible to name them all. Two come immediately to mind, though, and that is the walleye fishing at Potholes Reservoir and Moses Lake. Both of these walleye factories are producing terrific numbers of fish and they are big this year. I just got some photos on my phone showing two walleye from Moses Lake. One was a 26-incher and the other was a 30-inch whopper! The quality of the fishing on both Potholes and Moses Lake was amazing last year and here we go again. The salmon season is open now on both the Wenatchee and the Icicle rivers and very good numbers of bright spring salmon are being taken. Access is limited on the Icicle, but anglers did very well on the Wenatchee River last year and there is lots of good access along its shores. Kokanee fishing continues to be excellent at Lake Chelan and the fish are big again this year, too. The fish have moved down into the lower basin and are being caught off Rocky Point and Pleasant Beach.
