There is so much happening on the fishing front here in the region I just don’t know which way to go. It’s all good. Summer-run salmon fishing is cooking right along on the Columbia. I had a great afternoon below Wells Dam recently and plan to do a lot more fishing here. Brewster is now producing both kings and sockeye now, and I will have the results of the big derby that took place there soon. The Entiat is open to summer-run salmon fishing, and we should get an announcement about a sockeye fishery on Lake Wenatchee very soon. On top of all of this the bass and walleye fishing at Banks Lake is great, and so is the warm water action at Potholes Reservoir. The trout fishing on Rufus Woods is slower, only because conditions have changed. There are weeds to contend with this time of year, but if you find open water you’ll find fish. The fly fishing for rainbow and cutthroat on both the Yakima and Methow rivers is excellent, too. One of my favorite things to do in August is fly fish on the areas small streams, and that is just getting started. All this ads up to a whole lot of fishing fun!
