For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. Good news if you were trying to go clam digging on the Washington coast this weekend, it's still on. My sister and soon-to-be brother in-law are headed for Long Beach this weekend and hope to stack up a mess of razor clams. There are more digs tentatively set for May and Marion and I are going to try to get over and take part. As I write this report, snow is falling just out of town. Mother Nature is sure dragging her feet on "sprunging spring" on us! The animals are telling us spring is here, however. I've seen several deer that have shed their winter coats. I've also heard that the spring walleye bite is really turning on up and down the Columbia River and its reservoirs. Marion has a buddy who's been slaying walleye in the Irrigon area on the Columbia just down from Umatilla. I've also heard good reports of the bite turning on at Banks Lake. I also keep waiting for the reports of land-locked Chinook being caught on Lake Chelan to die down, but they're back again. Mother Nature, we need to get out! Until next time, Good Fishing!
