By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com I'm Eric Granstrom. I'm not usually one to follow a trend. I'd like to think of myself as fiercely independent. But over the holiday weekend I finally gave in and watched a couple seasons of Yellowstone. Yeah, I know. For the millions that have made the western drama set in Montana a hit series, you know the allure. For those who haven't seen it, it's a really good watch. Kevin Costner plays the lead as John Dutton, the owner of a huge cattle ranch near Bozeman. The show does a pretty good job depicting both life in Montana and as a modern cattle rancher. The scenery is spectacular, which I'm sure has done nothing but help drive more folks to the Big Sky Country seeking a simpler way of life. In fact, I think that's the show's biggest draw. It depicts a simple way of life, living off the land and trying to earn a living applying old west methods. The Yellowstone Dutton Ranch is a real ranch...the Chief Joseph Ranch in Darby, about 4-hours from Bozeman. You can stay there if you have the money as it's a guest ranch. Until next time, Good Fishing!
