By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com I'm Eric Granstrom. I've been putting in some extra hours at work the past few days, so I figured it was alright if I took a morning off and went fishing. So I reached out to my buddy Dave and we headed to his secret spot near Quincy once again. While the snow has abated, the trail walking down to the lakeshore was slippery as can be. Thankfully these cold nights turned the slush that was on the lake on our last trip into a nice, fresh layer of ice. We slipped and slid our way to the same spot where we did so well a couple weekends ago and re-drilled through the ice. I forgot to grab the jar of perch eyeballs I'd extracted from our last catch at home and tried some Powerbait Crappie Nibbles. I barely reached the bottom with my Swedish Pimple and BAM, fish on! I caught three small ones right away while Dave was fishless in his hole in the ice. But then, nothing. While Dave got hot, catching one after another, my hole dried up. I tried perch eyes, changing lures, changing holes, nothing. I'll blame the Waning Gibbous. Until next time, Good Fishing!
