By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. Be prepared. Isn't that the old scout motto? When heading to the Hanford reach this time of year to fish for fall run Chinook, be prepared for all kinds of presentations. A few years ago, I went fishing with a buddy to the Vernita area of the Hanford Reach on his boat. He pulled up to the launch without downriggers on board. When I asked where they were he said we were just going to use eggs that day. You guessed it, those using downriggers were catching fish all around us while we got skunked. For those on our Facebook page, you can check out a video we shot several years ago with Shane Magnuson of Upper Columbia Guide Service. He had a little of everything on board to coax a bite from these sometimes finicky fish and we had an epic day. His clients were able to catch limits and so too were Dave and myself. That particular day was a day the fish were looking for eggs. The video includes some great fishing fighting action, but also tips on how Shane likes to cure his eggs. Check it out. Until next time, Good Fishing!
